It is an apex predator that hunts deer, wild boar, and smaller mammals. Thanks to its powerful jaws and sharp teeth, it can take down prey much larger than itself. The Komodo dragon is also known for its venomous bite, which weakens its prey and makes hunting easier. Although it may appear slow, it can reach surprising speeds over short distances. Females lay their eggs in nests in the ground and do not care for the young afterward. Due to its limited range and the loss of natural habitat, this fascinating species is considered endangered.
