Lake Nakuru National Park lies in central Kenya, in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, and is one of the country’s most visited parks. Its centerpiece is Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake famous for the thousands of pink flamingos that cover its surface, creating a breathtakingly colorful spectacle. Alongside flamingos, the park hosts many other bird species, hippos, and aquatic animals.

The park is also a sanctuary for endangered species such as black and white rhinos, reintroduced as part of Kenya’s conservation efforts. Other animals commonly seen include lions, leopards, Rothschild’s giraffes, zebras, and buffaloes.
