Kenya, NP Nakuru, safari – 2023/5

Lake Nakuru National Park lies in central Kenya, in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, and is one of the country’s most visited parks. Its centerpiece is Lake Nakuru, a shallow alkaline lake famous for the thousands of pink flamingos that cover its surface, creating a breathtakingly colorful spectacle. Alongside flamingos, the park hosts many other bird species, hippos, and aquatic animals.

The park is also a sanctuary for endangered species such as black and white rhinos, reintroduced as part of Kenya’s conservation efforts. Other animals commonly seen include lions, leopards, Rothschild’s giraffes, zebras, and buffaloes. The landscape is diverse – ranging from grassy plains and acacia woodlands to rocky cliffs and scenic waterfalls.

Lake Nakuru represents one of Kenya’s greatest conservation success stories and is an ideal destination for observing wildlife in its natural environment. A visit to this park offers a blend of stunning views, rich biodiversity, and the peaceful atmosphere of the African wilderness.
